OUR ACTIONS ON WASTE
- We develop and redevelop processes to minimise material use and waste. The less the better!Â
- Tailored disposal concepts are in place at each Ajinomoto Omnichem manufacturing site to ensure efficient, environmentally sound treatment.
- We treat and dispose of materials according to international standards and local regulations. We carefully select partners for disposal transportation and treatment based on our in-house selection criteria for performance and capabilities.Â
- We use site-specific processes to operate and monitor our own wastewater treatment at the majority of our locations. We are guided by different parameters, including local requirements.
Less Groundwater & Smarter Water UseÂ
Ajinomoto Omnichem is already realistically looking at using 10% less groundwater in Belgium. How? We are collecting and using 10,000 m³ rainwater instead of letting it go down the drain.
Our focus on clean air
- Treatment of effluent at each site. Compliance with local regulations.
- Advanced air-purification and emission-control systems.    Â
- Checking and controlling emissions at their sources. Regenerative Thermal Oxidisers (RTOs) to remove Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from our emissions.
